CCL & VAT Exemption Reduction

How does the Climate Change Levy (CCL) affect my business?

The Climate Change Levy (CCL) is an environmental tax which encourages businesses to reduce their carbon emissions.

The CCL applies to businesses operating within commercial, agricultural, industrial and public service sectors. These businesses will be charged per kilowatt hour (LWh) for electricity and gas and per kilogram (kg) for solid fuel.

Are there any exemptions?

You may be exempt from CCL if you fall under the following categories:

  • You are a charity that conducts non-commercial activities
  • Your business generates its own energy and sells excess power to the grid
  • Your business energy consumption is already low, in which case it will automatically be viewed as being for domestic use

If you’re unsure whether your business qualifies for this tax exemption contact us.

Century Facades has switched to NextGen and the transition has been easy. The process was managed extremely well by Scott and the team!

Construction Sector

We’ve been working with NextGen to secure better energy contracts and have been really happy with the service received. Scott is friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about the energy industry, which allowed us to be confident that he was getting the best deals for us.

Education Sector

I have been using NextGen for around two years and they were a huge help in helping us transition from our current site at the time to our new site. They took care of all the paperwork and ensured the most competitive contracts were in place for us moving in.
